Dining Room Decor 2/8/20

My husband (Joe) and I purchased our home November 18, 2019.

It has been such a whirlwind since the purchase. It has been so exciting repainting, refurnishing, and adding our personal touches to this house, we now call home.

We were able to throw our first Christmas, December 25, 2019, only about one short month after purchasing the house. Even though it was one short month since the purchase however, it was so important to us to have our family all together for the holiday around the dinner table. I think the best of times for us both have been around a meal with friends and family.

I wanted our first Christmas to be special, and I also wanted everyone to see our home as ours; our touches and design. (We are still on a journey to get there lol)  We had to rent out some tables and chairs since we had absolutely no furniture to seat almost 12 people lol. I got some beautiful table cloths off of amazon and rented out seat covers to cover up the metal chairs. I knew I wanted to go with a buffalo plaid theme, and slowly put together the touches. It took me honestly the entire month to pre plan the appetizers, the meal, decor. My sisters were both flying in from out of town, and I couldn’t wait to see them, and for them to see the house. Everything was falling into place, and it was beyond the most amazing time when the day had finally arrived.Sitt

Christmas (December 25, 2019)

Sitting at the head of the dinner table at the end of the night,  I looked at my family, our pup, and my husband, and I couldn’t help but smile. It was a long, yet incredible day. Our bellies were full, and so were our hearts. Mine was exploding with love, and it was truly, a magical night. I knew in that moment that times like these are times we must cherish.

I know that my sisters won’t always be able to fly in for every big holiday and celebration, one can only hope. But in that moment I knew that the dining room was a place where I wanted family to gather, and to feel like home away from home.at times like these are times we must cherish. I know that my sisters won’t always be able to fly in for the holiday

The table of this dining room became the staple piece of the room. It was definitely the most expensive piece, however 100% worth it. The table is such a beautiful piece, and it is excellent quality. I can’t say enough about how amazing it is. lol Once we had the table, the other pieces that we added to the room begin to complement the table, and the room slowly came alive.

I hope you enjoy the dining room tour as much as we did putting it all together step by step, and piece by piece. My hubby was such a big part of brining my vision to life, I truly couldn’t have done it without him tehe Enjoy!
